ABOUT US

We created the first athletics ranking system for The Bahamas. Then we brought you the Bahamas Top 50 Basketball Camp, The Bahamas Hoopfest, and Now Island Relays Bahamas in partnership with The Grand Bahama Tourism team.  

 

We successfully hosted our 1st annual event on March 16-18, 2023 with 6 collegiate track and field programs from Bahamian and US Universities.

JOHNSON

Ms. Johnson is an 8X author and founder of Why Sales Network.  She started her career working with the NBA and has partnered on sports projects in The Bahamas for almost two decades; including, The International Coaches Clinic, Bahamas Top 50 Basketball Camp and most recently The Bahamas Hoopfest.  She received a BA from Prairie View A&M University, MBA from University of Phoenix and hold a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University.  Joyce is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

As a dedicated professional with over 8 years of experience in sports education, coaching, and media, throughout his career, he has honed this unique blend of skills and expertise to impact the sports industry.

As the director of operations at WildCard Entertainment,  he is responsible for creating and distributing high-quality graphics, videos, and live streams for a diverse range of sports events and platforms.

MARVIN
HENFIELD

Coach Henfield has trained, mentored, and invested in the lives of more than 15,000 Bahamian athletes and countless others.  Coach Henfield is also the founder of Caribbean Sports Academy (Bahamas), MHB Prison Fellowship, Marvin J. Henfield Education and Sports Foundation, Bahamas Baseball Invitational Classic, Marvin Henfield Basketball Shooting Academy and currently serves as Director of Basketball Operations and Skill Trainer to the Bahamas National Teams [2008 - Present].  He is also Co-Founder of the Bahamas Top 50 Basketball Camp, The Bahamas Hoopfest and [LEAP] Literacy Empowerment for Academic Proficiency [STEM] Program for at risk youth within The Bahamas.

ALAN SIMS

Coach Sims has served in the following capacities and has the following achievements:

 

  • Youth Club Coach 1987-2019

  • 28 athletes currently on college rosters 

  • 4 former athletes qualified for the Olympics

  • 3 former athletes made the US National team and 1 made the Panama National team

  • 10 athletes made the World Championship teams

  • Worked as a coach at the US Olympic training camp in 2016​

ETTA NOEL

A proud native of the picturesque Grand Bahama Island, specifically Freeport. With a decade-long tenure in the vibrant realm of Tourism and hospitality. Etta's commitment to excellence is underscored by her receipt of the Lionel Elliot Excellence Award through the Bahama Host CORE Program, Alongside her entrepreneurial pursuits, she runs an online product and service-based health and wealth-focused business, adding depth to her growing portfolio. Thrilled to join the Island Relay team, Etta embraces the opportunity to immerse herself in the world of Track and Field, eager to contribute while continuing her learning journey in the sporting domain.

LOGISTIC COORDINATOR

In his role as Logistics Coordinator and consultant for the Island Relays Bahamas team. He brings along with him over 30 years of experience in logistics and planning. A Carrier Customs Officer of The Bahamas. He packs a wealth of knowledge on frontline formalities and organizational structure.
